The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show continues celebrating its 93rd birthday this summer with Hunter/Jumper shows running July 26th-August 7th. Located in the North Carolina High Country, one mile from the beautiful mountain town of Blowing Rock, this beloved event is one of the oldest, continuously running horse shows in the country. The first show was held in 1923 on Green Hill Road near the Green Park. For decades this event has been respected by hundreds of riders and trainers, both amateur and professional. The event features a variety of food vendors and boutiques offering jewelry, clothing, gift items, beautiful photographs and paintings.
Proceeds from the show have supported local organizations such as:
- Blowing Rock Fire Department
- Blowing Rock Rescue Squad
- Watauga County Humane Society
- The Blowing Rock Rotary Club
- Horse Helpers of the High Country
