It’s easy being green in Boone, especially on St. Patrick’s Day! Cead Hile Failte – that means 100,000 welcomes in Gaelic!
The town of Boone and the Jones House Cultural Center are proud to announce that on Saturday, March 16, 2018, they will host the inaugural St. Patrick’s Day Parade. All members of the community are invited to help turn Boone green for the day!
Find a spot on King Street and enjoy the fun as Boone turns Irish for the day.
The parade will travel from the Watauga Human Services Complex (132 Poplar Grove Connector) to Legends at Appalachian State University
How to participate in the parade: To participate in the parade, please read and submit the parade application found on the website: http://www.joneshouse.org/st-patricks-day-parade. You may fill out the online form and mail or email it to the Jones House (604 W. King St.). Please contact the Jones House with any questions.
Please note:
- ALL parade paperwork must be submitted by the March 12 deadline in order to participate in the parade.
- Only 50 entries will be accepted in this year’s parade. Please submit your paperwork as early as possible to confirm your spot.
- There is no entry fee
Parade Entry Judging
New to the parade this year is a optional judging portion. For the 2019 parade, parade entries will have the option to participate in a float/entry judging competition, which will have prizes available for winners. In order to be considered for these prizes, parade entries must submit all required paperwork before March 12 and indicate on the entry form that they wish to be judged.
A generous leprechaun has donated a pot of gold for entries who place in the following award categories:
