Foodies, beer and wine aficionados, mark your calendars! Produced by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce for the past 10 years, SAVOR Blowing Rock, a four-day festival is coming back to town! The 2017 edition of this very special High Country event will be better than ever, with an expanded range of seminars and events that feature regional culture, music, craft beers from local breweries and across the state, beverage tastings and dinners that showcase the town’s culinary artistry.
Thursday through Saturday, seminars and cooking classes will take place, covering topics ranging from beer and wine pairing to North Carolina bitters and spirits to grilling. There will be two new cooking classes ~ one on grilling and one on Caribbean cuisine ~ as well as two downtown satellite tents (in addition to the Main Tent).
As per previous years, there will be a big focus on wines from North Carolina wineries and beyond. In addition to the Grand Tasting downtown, again this year, there are two Reserve Tastings on Saturday, featuring high-end wines poured in a relaxed, seated setting. On Sunday, SAVOR closes by playing host to the High South Wedding Expo.
There will be entertainment and music offered throughout the four days, highlighted by the RockitMan Radio event on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. The Internet radio station and professional recording studio will showcase local bands at the Blue Ridge Mountain Club tent downtown and provide them with free copy of their live performances.
Lastly, the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum joins the fun daily with events centered on art, culture and regional culinary history
