Mark your calendars! The Ashe County Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival, a beloved fall tradition for many families, is fast approaching, beginning September 23rd and running through October 31st on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Ashe County Corn Maze is located in West Jefferson and stretches across four acres. This spectacular maze can take anywhere from 30 minutes or up to an hour, offering families great exercise and a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Inside the maze, which can be quite challenging, you’ll find trivia questions to answer as well as location markers.
Afterward go out into the surrounding acres of fields to pick your own pumpkins for Halloween. You can also pick your own gourds and sunflowers for lovely fall decorations.
Other activities abound including corn cannons and slingshots, uniquely fun target games to play with your friends, as well as a bounce house for kids to run around in and climb, and knocker ball (bubble soccer), the newest activity at the festival.
