On Friday, December 2nd, from 5-8pm, celebrate the holidays with the Christmas Gallery Crawl in West Jefferson. The Holiday Crawl features 17 galleries showcasing the latest artwork by Ashe County’s favorite artists and new artists. You’ll get to check out new artwork and gift-giving ideas.
The Christmas Gallery Crawl is a free event, sponsored by the Ashe County Arts Council in cooperation with the West Jefferson Business Association, the West Jefferson TDA and is funded, in part, through a Grassroots Arts Program Grant of the North Carolina Arts Council.
Also on Friday, December 2nd, from 5-8pm, the Arts Council will be hosting an opening reception for Tree Fest, an exhibition that will be on display through December 29th. You’ll view beautifully decorated trees by artists and community groups. The exhibit will include “Miniatures,” small works of art in varied media. The gallery shop will have holiday items designed by local and regional artists for sale.
On Saturday, December 3rd from 11:30am – 4pm, the Ashe County Arts Council will host their Holiday Open House which will continue to feature beautifully decorated trees, handmade ornaments and the Miniatures exhibit. Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children from 8:30-10:30am in four sessions, Santa will be available to take photos. Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen will be open with stories and there will be an arts and crafts table and milk and cookies. Children will receive a book and holiday gift bag. Space is limited and reservations are encouraged.
Admission is $5 per child.
