On Thursday, December 8, 2016, the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM) will host a grand opening of several exhibitions with a reception from 5:30-8:30PM.
The Museum will feature three exhibitions at the reception: “Everyman Jack: Stories & Illustrations by Gail E. Haley,” “Andy Warhol: Six Silkscreen Prints,” and “A Town Within A Town: History of the Junaluska Community.” The Alexander Community Gallery will feature recent work by local stained glass artist Beth Shuford. The Museum’s on-going exhibitions, “Selections from the Collection” and “Elliott Daingerfield,” will also be open.
Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Also live music will be played throughout this very special holiday event.

On Friday, December 9, 2016, the Holiday Stroll in Blowing Rock will take place. This “town-wide holiday open house” will take place from 5-8pm. Another great way to celebrate winter and the Christmas season!
Local businesses and organizations will present an evening of fun including:
- Holiday shopping.
- Carolina Snow Belles: two dance performances at South Marke shops.
- Movie in the Courtyard: hot chocolate, outdoor movie, corn hole and more at Blue Ridge Mountain Club by Martin House.
- Christmas Concert in the Gazebo – Watauga Community Band performs in Memorial Park.
- Strolling Carolers – Enjoy impromptu sing-along sessions with wandering carolers.
- Festival of Lights at Chetola Resort – Drive or stroll through the resort to enjoy the twinkling display.
