The Haunted Factory in Jefferson
Ashe County’s scariest attraction is bigger and spookier than ever! The Haunted Factory now has a second building to provide a longer, heart-pounding adventure. There are live actors around every corner to provide you with ghoulish frights and delights. The haunt is indoors so weather is not a factor.
When: Every Friday and Saturday starting September 28th and running through October 31st
Time: 7:00pm – 11:00pm

Ghost Train at Tweetsie Railroad
It’s the spookiest time of the year again at Tweetsie Railroad! The Ghost Train® transforms North Carolina’s first theme park into a delightfully frightful destination. Each year, visitors travel from all over the Southeast to enjoy this family-friendly Halloween celebration and take in the spectacular fall leaf season in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

A BEARY SCARY HALLOWEEN
Check out a full day of nature programs about animals considered creepy and crawly! This fun-filled day includes an opportunity to create animal enrichments, trick-or-treating through the animal habitats and a costume contest. Plus, children in costume are admitted at half-price.

The Haunted Horn: Curse of the Wendigo
The haunted trail immerses participants in the story along with Joshua, a Colonial Captain, after he makes a horrible mistake that brings a curse upon a small settlement deep in the Appalachian Mountains!
When: Every Friday and Saturday in October
Where: Hickory Ridge Homestead and Horn in the West in Boone.
Time: Daniel Boo (6:00-7:30pm); the interactive haunted trail, Curse of the Wendigo, is 8-11pm.
Cost: Daniel Boo: $10, parents and kids (2 and under are free).
Curse of the Wendigo: $13 online, $18 at the door. Spectator: $10 (if you want to enjoy the live music and the fun but don’t want to enter the trail).
