Enjoy a day filled with live music, games, nature activities, hikes, wagon rides, craft and cultural demonstrations, hands-on activities, history and food at the 13th Annual Elk Knob Headwaters Community day.

At this event, which will take place on Saturday, September 13th, bring a dish of food to share for the pot luck and then join in activities sponsored by the Elk Knob Community Heritage Organization (EKCHO, Inc.).

You’ll enjoy a day of cultural heritage and pride in Ashe County!

About Elk Knob Park:
Located in Todd, Elk Knob State Park features one of the highest peaks in North Carolina’s High Country at 5,520 feet and one of the parks system’s finest trails to the spectacular views from the summit. Other trails are being developed at this relatively new park. Elk Knob is an outstanding park for experiencing all seasons in the mountain environment.

Other upcoming area, at Elk Knob Park include Skins and Skulls, a park ranger-guided look at different animals in the area (Saturday, September 16th) and Old Time Mountain Music Jam (Sunday, September 17th), where local musicians will play traditional Appalachian Music.

*Please note that if you are interested in participating in the potluck, you should bring a dish of food to share and plan to be at the park by noon.
