Blowing Rock’s Concert in the Park Series is an annual set of free outdoor concerts. Always on Sundays following Art in the Park, the performances offer entertainment from a variety of musical genres. Family-friendly and casual! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Memorial Park on Main Street to enjoy the music- all concerts begin at 4pm. 

May 27 - The King Bees

Blues/American Roots
The King Bees, Rob “Hound Dog”  Baskerville and Penny “Queen Bee” Zamagni call the mountains of North Carolina  home, but travel the world with their Blues and American Roots music. This year  marks the 31st anniversary of the band. The King Bees have performed on  festival stages in European capitals including Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Stockholm,  and London and have taken their internationally-acclaimed show across numerous  countries. Their love of American Roots music has carried them to shows in  Mississippi jukes joints as well as to several performances at Lincoln  Center.

June 17- Handlebar Betty

Bluegrass/Folk/Blues
Handlebar Betty: Laced with elements of bluegrass, folk, blues, soul and rockabilly, Handlebar Betty creates a unique sound that is dark, driving, and earthy; bringing forth a genuine, soulful and eclectic approach to acoustic/electric music.

July 15- Swing Set

Jazz & Swing
‘Swing Set’ is a horn band that has set the bar high for High Country area ensembles by featuring great swingin’ tunes of the Sinatra, Nat & Natalie Cole era–often upgrading to the current Michael Buble’ and Diana Krall renditions of many of the same great tunes. They have strong jazz soloists, GREAT vocals, and have a great time doing it…and it’s contagious!

August 12–  Ashley Heath

Soul Americana
Original soul americana music would best describe Ashley Heath. Raised in the foothills of Appalachia, she has developed a strong passion for country, blues, and folk music. In March of 2015, Heath decided to go full time into singing and playing music, quit her part time job as a barista in downtown Asheville, and recorded her first album “A Different Stream”. The album was recorded at the amazing Echo Mountain Recording Studios in Asheville, NC with producer Ryan Burns and engineer Clay Miller.

September 9–  Rastacoustic

Reggae-Appalachian Fusion
Rastacoustic is an Appalachian Reggae group that combines Roots Reggae music with the Appalachian folk style. Their eclectic influences range from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica creating a one of a kind musical experience. Rastacoustic is made up of Peter Brown and Justin Butler, two well-seasoned musicians that have collectively performed all across America, Canada, and Japan.

October 7-The Starlighters

Traditional Swing Music
A full swing band comprised of over a dozen talented musicians offering decades of experience in playing Traditional Swing Band music from the 1940 – 1960’s era.
