If you’ve never attended the Todd Liberty Parade, you have to see it to believe it. The 2018 Todd Liberty Parade will take place Wednesday, July 4, at 11:00 a.m. It meanders through downtown Todd ending at Cook Park with live music by the King Bees, dancing and food to purchase. You are invited to don a handmade costume that is provided and walk in the parade or watch from the sidelines and cheer it on.
The theme for the 2018 Todd Liberty Parade is “Unity Builds Community“. We are stronger together than we are separate. Community and the sense of belonging are integral parts of peace and happiness. You are sure to see symbols of unity in the parade – think beads linked together – in addition to the other fabulous costumes and props. Larger than life-sized puppets that have appeared in past parades include an enormous Bear, the West Wind and the Water Goddess.
If you wish to attend, please be at the big field at the corner of Hwy 194 and Todd Railroad Grade Road at 10:00 a.m. to pick out a costume or banner and line up. All are welcome to join. The costumes and decorations are hand-made and free for all to use during the parade.
Parade history:
After 11 years, Elkland Art Center passed the reins for parade implementation to the Todd Community Preservation Organization in 2017. For the second year, the TCPO is excited to be hosting this great event that honors the founding of our country in such a unique and fun way.
