Come celebrate heritage lifeways at the Museum of Ashe County. You’ll witness demonstrations of a number of different skills such as spinning, weaving, apple cider making, and more. On display you’ll see antique tractors and an antique steam engine. Special programming for kids includes arts and crafts, a hay maze and train rides. There will also be traditional music on the stage.
As an aside, the name “Autumn Leaf Festival” was chosen to pay homage to the Autumn Leaf Excursions on the Virginia Creeper!
The Museum of Ashe County History, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the re-purposing of the historic 1904 Ashe County Courthouse building as a county heritage museum for our citizens, their children, and our many friends who come to visit.
