The Ashe County Bluegrass and Old Time Fiddlers Convention will be held this year on Friday and Saturday, July 27th and 28th. This annual event is a celebration and showcase of the musical talent and heritage of the high country of North Carolina.
Ashe County Park, in Jefferson, North Carolina, will be the place to enjoy music and see the best in the region’s old time traditional and bluegrass musicians. Musicians of various ages and playing styles will gather to show off their talents. Friday night begins with the popular Appalachian Barn Dance. Camping available on site, limited hookups, but ample unassisted sites available. Concessions available during event. Sponsored by the Ashe County Arts Council, the convention will raise proceeds to support Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM). Check it out!
Friday: The Appalachian Barn Dance will take place on 7pm with Caller John Turner. Four couple figures, Big Circles, Reels, Flat Foot and Two Step Dances.

11am-2pm – Youth Individual and Band Competition
2-6pm – Adult Individual Competition
6-7pm Dance Competitions
7pm – Youth Award Presentation

Concessions
Concessions are sponsored by the Todd Ruritan Club. Food offerings include Pork Barbeque sandwiches and plates, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, Desserts, Soft Drinks, Coffee and Water.
St. Francis Catholic Church Women’s Group will provide cakes and beverages.
Town of Lansing and Glad will provide yummy ice cream!
Tickets Available in advance at the Ashe Arts Center (credit cards accepted) or at the gate the weekend of the convention (cash or check only) or call 336-846-2787. $5 Friday, $10 Saturday. $15 weekend pass. Children under 12, free with paying adult.

Camping permits are not tickets. If you must leave, only your admission wristband is valid for readmission. This is a family-friendly event! Law enforcement, park employees, and Fiddlers Convention Committee members will be on premises 24 hours daily.
